Synopsis

A Valentine’s Day bus bombing shocks the entire city. Under mounting pressure, the police bring back a long-retired forensic expert (Patrick Tam) to lead the investigation. As clues gradually emerge, the stories of two unclaimed young victims—Fai (Anson Kong) and Ike (ANSONBEAN)—are pieced together. Their lives are marked by broken families, social marginalization, and the pressures of being part of a sexual minority. What appears to be a sudden tragedy is in fact the result of long-accumulated injustice and indifference, ultimately leading to an irreversible outcome.

The film dissects the oppression and alienation embedded within social structures, allowing individual fates to reflect collective responsibility, powerfully conveying the idea that “No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.”

Directed and produced by Herman Yau, the film is a self-financed project regarded as a significant return to his socially realist roots. Determined to preserve the story’s controversial and provocative elements, he refused to dilute its content for commercial appeal, ensuring both the film’s integrity and its artistic depth.
